EaaS Virtual Dialog Series - Belgium
The successful path to servitisation
Context
Servitisation is the transformational journey a company goes through when transitioning from being a supplier of basic products and services towards becoming a provider of integrated solutions delivered through a pay-per-use or pay-per-outcome agreement aiming to increase the value provided to the user.
The adoption of a servitization strategy brings with it significant cultural and corporate challenges. As they servitize, companies are confronted with a new set of dynamics in their relationship with their customers and need to adapt and develop the required capabilities to deliver services and solutions under a “pay-per-use” contractual format. It is a transformation that requires orchestrated change on multiple domains:
- Developing new customer value propositions,
- Redesigning organizational processes & performance management to deliver EaaS,
- Building a service culture within the organization,
- Re-aligning IT.
If not managed structurally, servitisation generates business risks and may lead to higher costs that are not met by correspondingly higher returns.
